Independent cllr Danny Healy Rae made 446,000 euro in plant hire contracts from the council in 2004. He is the second biggest earner from haulage and hire contracts in the county. Top of the list of contractors is Clancy plant hire in Knockanure who were paid 486,000 euro in the period January to December 2004.These figures have been released in response to the now annual notice of motion by Cllr Brendan Cronin on money paid to contractors. This comes as the investigation into a potential conflict of interest by Cllr Healy Rae enters a new phase. The date for Cllr Healy Rae to respond to the County Manager elapsed over a week ago.
