Haughey documentary described as fair and balanced

One of Charles Haughey’s most prominent supporters in the county has described the new TV documentary on the life of the former Taoiseach as fair and balanced. The first episode of Haughey which aired last night traced the life of Ireland`s most controversial politician leading up to the arms crisis of 1970. Former Senator Dan Kiely says he wants to see how future episodes will deal with Haughey’s involvement with the phone tapping scandal of 1982, which was sanctioned by his then Minister for Justice the late Sean Doherty.
