In the States, Danny Lee claimed a first tour win as he won the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia. The Korean-born Kiwi claimed the trophy, and a cheque for 1-point-2 million dollars, at the second hole of a four-man playoff which also featured David Hearn, Robert Streb and Kevin Kisner. A bogey at the last was to ultimately cost her a chance of victory, but Leona Maguire put in a superb performance at the Ladies European Masters. The Cavan native and world’s number one ranked amateur player ended the weekend just a shot adrift of eventual winner Beth Allen. Bernd Wiesberger has won the Alstom Open de France for his third European Tour title. The Austrian’s finished on 13 under par after a superb closing 65 to win by three strokes from James Morrison.
