GRA calls on Minister to revoke special status to killers of Detective

The president of the GRA will today ask Minister Michael McDowell to revoke special status that the killers of Detective Garda Gerry McCabe in Castlrea prison. Dermot O Donnel says the Garda Representative Association want an end to the arrangements which include allowing the killers to serve their sentences in houses rather than cells and giving them the use of television sets and kitchen facilities. The Ballylongford native`s wife Anne is guest of honour at the GRA conference tonight. GRA representative with the Listowel division Ciaran Fitzgerald says Gerry McCabe`s widow has been through enough.
