Government considering tax breaks for publicans who ferry customers home

Publicans could be in line for a tax beak if they agree to drop their customers home after a night out.

It’s one of a number of measures being considered ahead of the expected passing of the drink-driving bill.

The Irish Independent reports Kerry Fine Gael TD and Minister of State for Tourism, Transport and Sport Brendan Griffin is exploring measures for publicians ahead of the Budget, including VRT and fuel.
