The ongoing problem of Ballybunion’s parking shortage, is set to be sorted after a North Kerry business man came forward with a solution.
Visitors to the resort have been complaining for years that there isn’t ample parking in the town, particularly on warm days when families flock to the beaches.
But Listowel pharmacist John Maguire, who owns the former Atlantic Hotel site on Sandhill Road, has agreed to allow Kerry County Council to open a car park on the site from this weekend onwards.
His offer was made following a meeting with the Ballybunion Forum and local councillor Robert Beasley.
Cllr Beasley says Mr Maguire’s generous offer will make a huge difference to the town this summer.
