Golden Mile Competition seeks best kept hedgegrow in Kerry.

People in the county are been asked to tidy their hedgerows before the 29th of February for the Golden Mile Competition. The competition which is run by Kerry County Council in conjunction with the Heritage Council is to find the best kept hedgerow in the county.The competition is run under guidelines for the best conservation practice for hedgerows in the county. Under the Wildlife Act people are banned from cutting hedges between March and the end of September. This is the second year of the competition and the closing date for entries is the end of March.
