German tourist charged with dangerous driving at Moll’s Gap remanded on bail

A German tourist charged with dangerous driving at Moll’s Gap has been remanded on bail.

54-year-old Ranier Taubert of Dresden, Tratten, Dorfer, Germany was before Killarney District Court yesterday.

He’s charged under Section 53 (1) of the Road Traffic Act in connection with a collision with a cyclist last Saturday at Eirk, Kenmare.

The court heard the cyclist’s injuries are very serious and file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Judge David Waters remanded Mr Taubert on continuing bail for mention on December 17th, but the accused doesn’t have to attend on the day.
