Gardaí seek public’s help following spate of break-ins

Gardai are seeking the public’s help, following a spate of burglaries around the county in recent days. Garda Among the items stolen in the raids, was an expensive ring, and large quantities of cash. The first of the burglaries happened around 3am on the morning of December 11th, when the occupant of a house in Kenmare woke to find an intruder in his bedroom. A sum of E150 was taken from his wallet, and Gardai say this was a particularly frightening experience for the victim. Also under investigation is a break-in to Castleisland Community College on Friday morning, in which a large quantity of cash was taken. Meanwhile, Gardaí are separately investigating three break-ins in the Listowel area, all of which occurred between Thursday and Saturday. A sum of E100 in coins was taken from a house in Kilmorna, along with a distinctive ring in the shape of a daisy, which Gardaí say was valuable. Houses in Convent Street and Clieveragh were also broken into, but nothing was taken in either. It’s not yet known if the three Listowel incidents were connected. Anyone with information on any of these break-ins, is asked to contact their local Garda station.
