Gardaí say the success of recent CAB operations in Kerry is very encouraging.

Over the past two years, the Criminal Assets Bureau and local gardaí have engaged in a number of operations targeting the assets of organised criminal gangs which operate in the county.

Earlier this year, there was a follow up to last year’s successful Operation Tarmac in Killarney, in which vehicles and cash worth up to half a million euro were seized.

The Chief Superintendent of the Kerry Garda Division, Tom Myers, says there are further targets in the county, and local gardaí will continue to work with CAB to tackle organised crime in Kerry.
