Gardaí renew appeal for information on alleged sexual assault in Tralee

Gardai have renewed their appeal for information about an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Tralee last year.

The incident took place in the car park outside Shanakill in August as the woman walked home after a night out around 3am.

Gardai are particularly interested in the movements of a light coloured metallic Fiat Punto in the moments before the assault; the driver of the car had attempted to speak to the woman as she walked through Monavalley.

Last night on RTE’s Crimecall Detective Inspector John Brennan said the man who sexually assaulted her was in his mid to late twenties, 5ft 10 to 6ft in height, of athletic build and wearing a short sleave red checkered shirt.

The ordeal ended when the woman called for help.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066 7102300 or the Garda Confidential Line on  1800 666 111.
