Gardaí looking for help in investigation into hit and run near Abbeydorney

Gardaí are looking for your help in their investigation into a hit and run near Abbeydorney.

It happened yesterday at 11.40am at Dromcunning, some two miles from the village, on the Abbeydorney-Tralee road.

Tralee gardaí say no one was injured but that the vehicle struck a property at Dromcunning with considerable force, resulting in a wall being knocked down.

The driver of the car, a silver Volkswagen Golf GTI, dated between 1998 and 2004, got out of the car.

He picked up the number plate and drove back in the direction of Tralee.

As a result of the collision, the car lost its front bumper.

Gardaí describe the driver as a young man in his late teens or early twenties, with blond hair, tightly cut.

He was wearing a red jacket with stripes.

Gardaí are seeking to trace this Golf GTI and the driver.
