Gardaí are investigating whether an indoor event held on the Kerry/Limerick border breached COVID-19 regulations.
Gardaí confirmed they attended the scene of an indoor event last Thursday, August 20th.
They say as it's an active investigation, they have no further comment on the incident.
Radio Kerry News understands that the event, which is the subject of a garda investigation, was held at the Lanterns Hotel outside Tarbert.
The hotel has declined to comment.
Under new guidelines announced last week by the Government, indoor gatherings and events are now limited to six people from no more than three households.
However, indoor weddings of up to 50 people are still allowed for the time being.
In a statement to Radio Kerry, gardaí said social distancing and other COVID-19 public health guidelines are not penal provisions and in supporting these guidelines, they have adopted a graduated policing response which has seen garda members engage, educate, encourage, and, as a last resort, enforce.
