Gardaí appeal for witnesses after male cyclist knocks down and injures child in Tralee town centre

Gardaí have appealed for the public’s help, after a cyclist knocked down and injured a child in Tralee town centre, and then fled the scene.

The boy was left with facial injuries and it’s understood the cyclist was also injured himself.

The incident happened last Wednesday evening in the Abbey Court area of Tralee.

A cyclist, riding a grey and silver mountain bike, sped through the Square and then collided with a boy who was walking with his parents near the Swamp store.

The boy was treated at the scene for facial injuries but was not seriously hurt.

The cyclist, who was also injured in the collision, failed to remain at the scene.

He’s described as being in his mid 30s, about 6 foot 2 and well built, with short hair.

He was wearing blues jeans, a t-shirt and runners.
