Gardai advise on security of legally held guns

Gardai are warning people in the county with legally held shotguns to store them in a secure place. They believe criminal gangs are stealing the guns to use them in armed raids. More than 20 rifles and shotguns have been stolen in Kerry, Limerick and Cork in recent months just eight have been recovered. One’s believed to have been linked to a murder in Limerick.Concern about the 12 missing guns and the belief they’ll be used in raids in the run up to Christmas has prompted the warning.
