Limerick have beaten Cork by 24 points to 15 in the Munster hurling final. There was very little there to seperate the sides after the first half at the Gaelic Grounds, and they were level 10 points apeice. However Cork started the second half with 14 men after Pa’ Horgan was shown a straight red card on the stroke of half time. Limerick took every advantage in the second half to pull away and claim their first Munster title since 1996. Earlier there Limerick came from behind to finish level with Waterford in the minor final. That’ll go to a replay after it finished 2-19 apiece. Dublin defeated Meath by 2-15 to 14 points to win this year’s Leinster final. A Paul Flynn goal put the Dubs in control after five minutes, but Meath led by 2 points at half time. Paul Mannion got Dublin’s second goal on the hour mark, and they held on for their 8th Leinster title in 9 years. Flynn says Meath gave them plenty of problems.
