Funding provided for upgrading of footpath on busy Killarney road

Funding has been provided for the upgrading of a footpath on a busy road in Killarney town. Road works sign Kerry County Council and Killarney Town Council have joined forces to pay for repairs and improvements to the footpath along East Avenue Road. Work is underway on the widening of the footpath to three metres, from the Fairhill carpark entrance to the courthouse. The work involves removing the wall between East Avenue Road and the carpark and the widening of the path to the line of the existing birch trees. Part of the funding is being provided from the County Councillors’ Allocations of Cllrs Michael Gleeson and Sean Counihan. The upgrading work is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
