Four men charged with breaking into house in Kilcummin ‘in the middle of the day’

Four men have appeared in court charged with breaking into a house ‘in the middle of the day’ in Kilcummin last Wednesday.

The men, with addresses in Kildare and Wexford, appeared before Tralee District Court charged with entering a building as trespassers with intent to commit an arrestable offence.

The charges are contrary to Section 12 (1) and (3) of the Criminal Justice Theft & Fraud Offences Act, 2001.

The alleged offence is said to have occurred at Aisling House, Coolick, Kilcummin, Killarney ‘in the middle of the day’ on Wednesday, March 22nd, the court heard.

A witness saw three people running from the back of a house into a vehicle.

The court heard they were discovered by Gardaí after the witness followed the car.

Arrests were made at four minutes past midday.

The four defendants appeared in Tralee District Court on the charges specified.

27-year-old Gerard Knee of 25 Ardren Court, Athy, Co. Kildare; 32-year-old Patrick Quilligan of 19 Yellow Lough Park, Rathangan, Co. Kildare; 33-year-old Michael Mooney of 15 Fr Murphy Park, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford and 34-year-old Brian Mooney of 25 Fairfield’s Close, Adamstown, Co. Wexford.

Judge James O’Connor remanded the defendants to the March 29th sitting of Tralee Distict Court.
