Five Kerry settlements on latest tax defaulters list

Five Kerry individuals and companies feature on the latest list of tax defaulters for making settlements with the Revenue Commissions totalling €720,000.

A further 34 Kerry business people or companies had fines or other penalties imposed by the courts between April and June.

Of the five Kerry settlements, the largest was by Corcoran Food Machines Limited of Upper Rock Street, Tralee which paid over €364,000 to the Revenue Commissioners.


Corcoran Shop Equipment Limited, also of Upper Rock Street, Tralee had to settle for €131,000; both were Revenue Audit Cases, for the under-declaration of Corporation Tax and PAYE/PRSI/USC.

John D Clifford, a farmer of Killeacle, Ardfert made a settlement for €91,000 in a Revenue Enquiry Case, for the under-declaration of Capital Gains Tax.

John Kelliher, a locksmith and investment income partner of An Nead, Clounalour, Oakpark Road, Tralee paid over €90,000 in a Revenue Audit Case, for the non-declaration of Income Tax and VAT.

Brandon Court Limited, a haulier of Dromtacker, Tralee made a settlement of almost €43,000 in a Revenue Audit Case for the under-declaration of PAYE/PRSI/USC.

A further 34 Kerry business people or companies had fines or other penalties imposed by the courts between April and June.

They varied in amount from €700 to €7,500, with 19 for failure to lodge income tax returns, 10 for failure to hold a current liquor licence, three for the misuse of marked mineral oil, and one each for failure to remit VAT and delivering incorrect VAT returns.
