Five candidates will run for Fine Gael in the South and West Kerry Electoral Areas

FineGael logo Five candidates will run for Fine Gael in the South and West Kerry Electoral Area in next year’s local elections. A directive from party headquarters ensured that there would be a candidate from each townland in the electoral area. That includes Kenmare, Caherciveen, Dingle, Keel/Castlemaine and Killorglin. Sitting councillors Patrick Connor-Scarteen, PJ Donovan, Seamus Cosai Fitzgerald and Matt Griffin were automatically selected without a vote. The final party ticket went to a vote between Johnny Porridge O Connor and Donie O’Sullivan. That vote was won by former County Councillor Johnny Porridge O Connor. Former Kerry footballer Billy O’Shea withdrew his name from the selection process which took place at the CYMS hall in Killorglin last night.
