File sent to DPP on Dingle lorry crash

A file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions after an incident last year in which a lorry crashed into a Dingle shop front. Dingle lorry left The incident happened around lunchtime on July 30th last. The waste disposal truck hurtled down Green Street in Dingle, striking parked cars before crashing into the front of the Woollen Store in Holy Ground. There were no serious injuries but the lorry driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Gardai interviewed eye witnesses and made initial contact with the owner of the truck Kenmare Waste Disposal and Glass Recycling Limited. It’s understood a report on an examination of the lorry by Garda PSV officer James O’Brien has been completed. Gardai say a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions and they are awaiting directions from the office to determine how the investigation proceeds.
