Kerry County Councillor Michael Cahill has expressed his disappointment at not being added to the Fianna Fáil ticket in Kerry for the next General Election.

Cahill congratulated Councillor Norma Moriarty for being the second candidate selected to run for the party, along with Deputy John Brassil.

The Fianna Fáil man says he wasn’t surprised at the decision, due to the gender quota now applied to all political parties.

Each party must run at least 30% female candidates to qualify for the maximum State funding.

Councillor Cahill also thanked his friends and supporters for their loyalty and continued support.
