FF Councillor calls for change of direction by planning office

A Fianna Fail Councillor says he will return to implementing section 140’s if there isn`t a change of direction by the planning office. The Party met with the County Manager yesterday to see if they could achieve a level playing field for local people seeking permission.Councillor Michael Cahill says planners and the County Manager are also public servants and owe to the public to grant a certain number of planning applications in the interests of the economic growth of an area. The same party have put a moratorium in place on Section 140 s because of their increasing presence on council meetings in the past. Councillor Cahill says he will be left with no choice but to return to using 140’s if there isnt a change of track by the planning office.
