Ferry service says Wild Atlantic Way has helped improve business

A ferry service linking Kerry and Clare has witnessed an eight per cent increase in traffic year-on-year for the last two years. Shannon The Shannon Ferry Group, which operates the service from Tarbert to Killimer, says promotion of the Wild Atlantic Way driving route has had a big impact on their business. A spokesperson says there’s been a threefold recovery with tourism thriving, an improvement in commercial traffic in particular heavy goods vehicles and a smaller recovery in the Irish domestic consumer. The ferry employs 18 full time staff and 7 seasonal workers and operates in the summer season from 7am to 9.30pm.
