Extra Gardaí on patrol this bank holiday weekend in Kerry

Extra Garda resources will be deployed in Kerry over this August Bank Holiday weekend in order to improve road safety.

In recent days, an unmarked car has been on patrol in the Killarney area targeting motorists using mobile phones while driving and not wearing seatbelts.

During the busiest bank holiday of the year on our roads, Gardai will be focused on speeding, drink and drug driving, driving while using a phone, seat belts and tyre condition.


Sergeant John O’Gorman from Killarney Garda Station says this is all to save lives and prevent injuries:
