An application to extend an existing quarry in south Kerry has been made to the local authority.

Michael F Quirke and Sons want to extend the quarry at Glannagilliagh, Caragh Lake, Killorglin over 14 hectares.

The processing infrastructure will remain in the existing quarry and one excavator and one articulated dump truck will work in the proposed extension area.

A decision should be made on the application, which includes an environmental impact statement, by March 8th.
