Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he complete faith Claudio Bravo will be an able deputy in goal against Liverpool.

Guardiola says first choice Ederson won’t be fit for Sunday’s game at Anfield having suffered an injury in Tuesday’s Champions League draw away to Atalanta.

Bravo hasn’t started a Premier League game since May of 2018 and got sent off in Milan this week.

Michael O’Neill says his aim is to get Stoke City back into the Premier League.

The Northern Ireland manager takes over with the Potters bottom of the Championship table.

O’Neill will remain in charge of Northern Ireland for this month’s Euro 2020 qualifiers with the Netherlands and Germany along with any play-off tie that may come in March.

And the new Stoke boss says a return to the top flight isn’t as unlikely as it may currently seem

Munster’s international contingent return for tomorrow’s Pro 14 derby with Ulster at Thomond Park.

Peter O’Mahony will captain the side, while the likes of CJ Stander, Jean Kleyn, John Ryan, Chris Farrell and Andrew Conway all start.

Jacob Stockdale and Jordi Murphy are restored to the Ulster side for tomorrow’s game.

Shane Lowry says he needs another couple of rounds like today’s if he’s to contend at the Turkish Airlines Open.

The Open champion shot a 65 to end the day on 7-under par and five shots off the lead of Matthias Schwab.

Lowry is also six shots ahead of current Race To Dubai leader Bernd Wiesberger.

Padraig Harrington also had a good day in Antalya, carding a 66 to finish 3-under.

BASKETBALL

Basketball Ireland has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2020 FIBA Men’s European Championship for Small Countries it was announced at the FIBA board meeting in Cologne today.

The championships will be held at the University of Limerick.
