Steven Zuber and Denis Zakaria scored for Switzerland in Tbilisi.


The Republic of Ireland have qualified for this summer’s under-19 European Championships in Armenia.

Tom Mohan’s side won 3-1 against Azeraijan to go top of the group.

And Russia’s draw with Romania this afternoon has sealed Ireland’s qualification with a game to spare.


Limerick have won 2-1 at Cabinteely in the S-S-E Airtricity League First Division.

Connor Ellis and Sean Russell scored in either half for the blues while Conor Keeley found the net for Cabinteely.

The victory lifts Limerick up to fifth place while Cabinteely drop to sixth.

Ulster can move up to second-place in Conference B with a home win over the Southern Kings in their half-five meeting at Kingspan Stadium.

Pat O’Shea has stepped down as Dr Crokes manager after three seasons in charge.

He led the Killarney club to All-Ireland Club Senior Football success in 2017 and departs following their loss to Corofin in this year’s decider.

Crokes also won three Kerry titles and two Munster crowns under O’Shea and the club have thanked him for his ‘enormous contribution’.


Derry lead Wexford by 3-11 to 1-8 in Division Four of the Allianz National Football League.

Padraig Harrington’s 11 shots behind leader Nacho Elvira after three rounds of the Maybank Championship in Malaysia.

Ryder Cup captain Harrington moved to two-under-par with a 71 today while Elvira holds a two-shot lead over the field at 13-under.

The Spaniard will be bidding to win his maiden European Tour title tomorrow.
