Richie Towell won’t be moving up to the Premier League with Brighton next season.

Seagulls manager Chris Hughton has signalled his intention to loan the former Dundalk marksman out to a Championship club next season.

Towell has only started two FA Cup ties since swapping Oriel Park for the Am-Ex 18-months ago.

Three days after his hat-trick secured a first Dutch title in 18-years for Feyenoord, Dirk Kuyt has announced his retirement.

The Dutch forward spent six years at Liverpool, helping them to the 2012 League Cup, as well as the 2007 Champions League final.

Kuyt was also part of Dutch sides that were runners-up and third placed at successive World Cups.


Peter Malone has included six uncapped players in his Ireland squad for the Under-20 World Championships.

Munster pair David McCarthy and Alan Tynan are joined by Leinster trio Michael Silvester, Conor Dean and Jordan Duggan.

Angus Curtis is Ulster’s lone potential debutant.

While injury has ruled out the likes of Jordan Larmour and Cillian Gallagher, Caelan Doris has been deemed fit enough to travel to Georgia.

Ireland begin their Group B campaign against Italy on May 31st, before games with Scotland and the Baby Blacks.

The ex All Ireland winning manager who’s now working with Celtic says playing more games in the same weekend would provide more time for club matches…………
