The Kerry National is very much the plan for the Charles Byrnes-trained Doctor Duffy after his taking winning display under Kevin Brouder at Ballinrobe on Sunday. Alfa Beat won the Listowel feature for Byrnes ten years ago and the Ballingarry trainer looks to have a live chance again this time with the seven-year-old which scored a three and a quarter length win from the Tom Mullins-trained Chavi Artist, a sixth winner of the season for the Tralee jockey.

Paddy Kennedy won the opening maiden hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday with Jelona, owned and bred by Gerard McGrath and trained by Jessica Harrington. The 13/2 chance was hampered when left disputing the lead at the final hurdle but recovered well to beat the Peter Fahey-trained 7/4 favourite Trevena by half a length.
