ESB unions says power will be turned off if no solution to dispute found

The ESB group of unions says all their power will be turned off at 8am on Monday week – if a solution is not found to the pension dispute. ESB Logo Unions and management at the ESB are currently attending talks with the Labour Relations Commission at an undisclosed location. The Government says contingency plans are in place in the event that the strike goes ahead, but it hasn’t said what they are. Whilst the unions say that due regard will be had for public health and safety. The Minister for Energy and Communications Pat Rabbitte says there isn’t any threat to the pensions of any worker at ESB.
