Eleven Men’s Sheds projects in Kerry are to benefit from over €17,300 (€17,391) in funding.
This will be used to upgrade their facilities by purchasing equipment or by carrying out minor works.
Minister for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin has welcomed the announcement.
Deputy Griffin says The Irish Men’s Sheds Association does fantastic work and should be supported.
He says such initiatives are great outlets for men in Kerry to connect with each other, share their skills and work together on community projects, adding that he is delighted that 11 Kerry projects were successful in their applications.
Ballybunion, Ballyduff, Ballyheigue, Cahersiveen, Castlemaine and Tralee will all receive €1,500, while Killarney and Barradubh are to receive €2,000.
€1,620 has been allocated for Dingle and Kenmare is to receive €1,200 while Sneem will benefit from €1,571.
