Electronic health recording system goes live at University Hospital Kerry

A new electronic health recording system for women and babies receiving maternity services in University Hospital Kerry has gone live.

It is just the second unit in the country to introduce The Maternal and Newborn Clinical Management System and will see records move to an electronic format rather than paper.

The system will provide for better communication and supported decision making between medical professionals and in turn improved patient care.

The first newborns in UHK to have their own electronic health records from birth are Baby Laura born on Saturday to parents Nora and Tim Scanlon and Baby Cadán born on Sunday to parents Marion and Donncha Moloney.
