Éigse na Brídeoige to be officially opened tonight

The annual Éigse na Brídeoige cultural festival will be officially opened this evening in south Kerry.

The event, now in its 27th year, will see lectures, song, dance, poetry and more in locations across the Iveragh Gaeltacht.

Éigse is a celebration of the Biddy tradition of St Bridget’s Day and the coming of spring.

The theme of this year’s event, which will be officially opened by Gaeltacht Minister Seán Kyne tonight and will run until Sunday, is migration.
