Dog owners advised to take responsibility for pets following series of attacks on sheep flocks

Dog owners in Kerry are urged to take responsibility for their pets following a number of savage attacks on sheep by dogs. Sheep and lamb IFA National Sheep Chairman Joe Lynskey says across the country there have been a number of dog attacks on sheep including heavily pregnant ewes. Even sheep that appear uninjured by a dog attack can lose their lambs, and or fail to thrive. Joe Lynskey says a flock owner is perfectly entitled to shoot a dog who is worrying or attacking sheep.
