Further disruptions to Kerry health services as nurses strike continues

Patients can expect more disruption to health services in Kerry tomorrow as nurses strike for the third day.
Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation will take to the picket line as their row over increased staffing levels and increased pay continues.
University Hospital Kerry and local community healthcare services will face disruption as a result.
Tomorrow’s strike will get underway at 8am and will last for 24 hours.
All Out Patient, Inpatient, Day Surgery appointments at University Hospital Kerry will be cancelled for the second time this week.
Management at UHK requests that people only attend for emergency services if absolutely essential.
Kerry’s Community Healthcare will also be impacted.
Routine community nursing; health centre and primary care centre nurse clinics, all day hospital services and many public day centres will be closed.
All planned admissions, for respite and rehabilitation for the elderly and for people with intellectual disabilities, will also be cancelled.
Patients are being advised that all cancelled appointments and procedures will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
