Disagreement in Fianna Fail over party ruling

The Chairman of the Fianna Fail Comhairle Dailcheantair in North Kerry says he disagrees with a party ruling that would force him and party colleagues to step down from their positions on the Comhairle Dailcheantair. The ruling from Fianna Fail headquarters says elected members cannot have officer positions on the Dailcheantair nor can they hold the positions for longer than four years. However the Comhairle Dailcheantair in North Kerry are refusing to implement the ruling which would see the removal of Ned o Sullivan as Chairman, former TD Denis Foley as Treasurer and Councillor John Brassil as Vice Chairman. Councillor O Sullivan says they are going to continue to hold their positions until the party Ard Fheis when they hope to revisit the ruling.
