The director of a Kerry addiction centre doesn’t think it’s a good idea to name and shame drunk drivers.

Con Cremin of Talbot Grove was speaking after Transport Minister Shane Ross pledged to press ahead with the plans, as part of the latest road traffic legislation which will come before the Dáil in the autumn.

Con Cremin says a lot of drunk drivers are named in newspapers anyway; and he believes that for people with severe addiction issues, being named and shamed is the least of their problems.
