Dingle residents begin car sticker campaign to oppose name change

Dingle residents have begun a car sticker campaign to highlight their opposition to the decision to change the name to An Daingean by Minister Eamon O Cuiv. The Irish language version of the old cliché ‘if it ain’t broke, why fix it’ can be seen in cars around the country, in an effort to retain the name Dingle on sign posts and maps. Kerry County Council is also making arrangements to hold a plebicite in the Dingle area on the controversial name change issue and a vote is expected to be taken by the end of they year.
