Dingle Coastguard warn swimmers to obey signs at Slea Head

Swimmers are being warned to obey the signs at Slea Head following a rescue by Dingle Coastguard yesterday. A swimmer got into difficulty when washed up onto the rocks at Cumeen Owl. He was airlifted by Shannon Rescue helicopter to Kerry General Hospital. The area is a popular destination for rock divers and surfers despite the effort to discourage people from swimming there. Tom Kennedy of Dingle Coastguard is calling on people to be sensible and heed the warning signs.
