Frankie Dettori secured his third winner of the week as he rode ‘Undrafted’ to victory in the feature race at Ascot today – the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. The 14-to-1 shot came from behind to beat Australian raider, Brazen Beau, in a race dominated by non-British horses. Charlie Hoynes reports [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/41607/medium/”] The Magners Ulster Derby, worth a whopping €100,000 in prize-money, went the way of Botany Bay at Down Royal today. Botany Bay had never won a race of any sort before today but he shed his maiden tag in style as he took the feature of the Flat racing season at Down Royal under Niall McCullagh for trainer Charles O’Brien and his mother Jacqueline. Having opened on-course at 12-1, Botany Bay was backed into 7-1 at the off and he kept on strongly under McCullagh to beat 7-4 favourite Fields Of Athenry by one length. Brightly Shining completed the placings a further half a length back in third under Rory Cleary for Jim Bolger.
