Derrynane House could be leased out to a private company. derrynane house The home of Daniel O’Connell, which is currently being refurbished, is among 17 sites the Office of Public Works is considering leasing out to companies that promise to enhance the visitor experience. The OPW is allowing the private sector to take leases of up to 10 years on 17 sites, including Derrynane House, outside Caherdaniel and the Blasket Island Centre in Dunquin. The plans are aimed at bringing in extra money at public sites, after state funding was cut sharply in recent years.
