A Kerry location is one of seven across the country to be awarded Green Flag Awards for OPW National Historic Parks.
Derrynane Historic Park in Caherdaniel has been honoured for its well-kept space at a ceremony in Malahide Castle today.
Stephen’s Green in Dublin and Garinish Island in Cork are among the other six which have been awarded Green Flags.
The awards, administered by An Taisce, recognise and encourage good quality parks and green spaces that are managed in environmentally sustainable ways.
The awards are marked on eight criteria, including horticultural standards, cleanliness, sustainability and community involvement.
