Delays expected before and after Kerry-Mayo game, warn Gardai

Garda Supporters travelling to the Kerry-Mayo all Ireland semi final in Limerick today are advised to travel early. Gardai will be on point duty in Newcastlewest, Abbeyfeale and Rathkeale as well as the N69. The Gaelic Grounds are located on the Old Ennis Rd in Limerick City and with a full house expected, delays can be likely in the area around the stadium before and after the match. Parking restrictions and road closures will also operate on the Ennis Rd and adjacent to the Gaelic Grounds on the Ennis Rd from 2pm today. Supporters travelling through Abbeyfeale and Newcastlewest are advised there is a charity cycle race here today. It’s expected that it will be finished by 2pm. Gardai say they are expecting traffic to be at it’s heaviest between 1 and 3pm. The N69 Tralee/ Limerick Rd will also be busier than normal with delays heaviest through Listowel, Glin, Askeaton and further along through Mungret. Gardai are asking motorists to be patient as there will be heavy traffic on all route into Limerick.
