Decrease in number of people speaking Irish on a daily basis in Kerry

The number of daily Irish speakers in Kerry has fallen by almost 500 people over the past five years.

Census 2016 has revealed there are 2,049 daily Irish speakers in County Kerry as a whole.

This is compared to 2,501 recorded via Census in 2011.

This represents a fall of 452 daily Irish speakers in the county in five years.
