Decline in enrolments to Kerry primary schools

The number of primary school pupils enrolling in primary schools in Kerry has fallen.

Figures from the Deparment of Education published in today’s Irish Independent show Kerry experienced the second highest decline between 2017 and 2018.

There was a decrease of 37 enrolments in the county during that time.

Such declines are threatening the viability of more rural primary schools, according to today’s report.
