Decision expected on Ballybunion development by end of May

The newly elected Chairman of the Castlegreen Preservation Group says he is hopeful that An Board Pleanala will allow them to withdraw their objection to a controversial twenty five million euro development for Ballybunion. Jay Galvin was selected as Cathaoirleach at a special meeting of the group last night to discuss their position in relation to the hotel. The group had originally objected to the 72 bedroomed hotel but later attempted to withdraw their opposition it. Following an investigation by An Board Pleanala the attempt to withdraw was found to be invalid. A decision is due on the development, which has already been shot down twice by the planning appeals board, at the end of the month. Jay Galvin says the town of Ballybunion needs this development
