Deal is reached between ESB and farmers

The President of the ICMSA, Pat O’Rourke, says his members in Kerry will take a better compensation offer from ESB if it is offered to them. A deal was agreed last month between ESB and farmers who were affected by the construction of a powerline from Tarbert to Tralee. The IFA is currently negotiating a separate package with the semi-state company after it described the initial deal as “derisory”.The ICMSA President, Pat O’Rourke says it’s “absolutely unacceptable” to attempt to renege on the compensation agreement reached with a group of Kerry landowners, but he says they’ll take more money if it’s available.
