Deadline for Cllr Healy Rae to respnd to alleged conflict of interest

Independent Cllr Danny Healy Rae is refusing to comment on whether he’s responded to the investigation into an alleged conflict of interest. Today is the deadline for Cllr Healy Rae to reply to The Cathaoirleach and The County Manager. Last month he was given four weeks to answer the complaint which was made by Cllr Brendan Cronin after the September meeting of Kerry County council last year. Cllr Healy Rae had put down a motion about hedge cutting, which he has carried out for the council in the past. The current investigation is based on the local government act of 2001 which deals with how elected members should carry out their duties if they have a beneficial interest.
