CWU members to ballot on strike action

A Kerry spokesperson for the Communications Workers Union says postal workers are angry at the refusal by An Post to pay the cost of living increases due under the Sustaining Progress pay deal. The Branch Secretary for the North Kerry branch of the CWU says some 240 members in Kerry are balloting on strike action which could cause serious disruption to mail delivery in the coming weeks. Ger O’Brien says union members in the county will meet to discuss the matter next week, but in the meantime, the mood among them is leaning towards a strike.
